In 2019, Erik began volunteering at the Clinic as a scribe while he completed his UF Master’s in Health Education and Behavior online. In September 2020, he was hired as clinical support.
At the Clinic, Erik helped fill the gaps working in intake, scribing, helping with continuous glucose monitors, assisting in pharmacy, and anywhere else he was needed.
One of Erik’s favorite things about the clinic is the drive to not only address patients’ medical conditions but also empowering our patients by providing classes and connecting them to community resources to meet their needs.
Erik will be attending the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine but plans to continue his involvement with the Clinic by volunteering whenever he has the opportunity.
”Working at the Clinic has impacted my life by confirming my desire to become a physician.
Seeing the staff and physicians compassionately interact with patients has shown me the type of provider that I aspire to be.
Our providers work tirelessly and compassionately to ensure our patients are well taken care of.”
