Care Chronicles: Meet Isabela

Patient Story: Isabel

Isabel has been a patient of the CFC for over 5 years with difficulty managing asthma and high blood pressure. During her initial visit, the Clinic practitioners prescribed medication to lower her blood pressure and regulate her asthma. Since becoming a patient at the Clinic, Isabel has learned more about her heart health and how to maintain a healthy diet.

Now in good health, Isabel regularly schedules routine check-ups with the Clinic specialists and practitioners. What Isabel loves most about the Clearwater Free Clinic is the patient care revolves around both clinical health and mental well-being. She has joined several of the educational and therapy classes our volunteers and staff offer, her favorite being the Clinic’s Art Connection class.

“It was amazing because it was so relaxing and I was able to do different art projects. I was unsure if I could do it, but after the results, I felt more confident in myself. I have some of the artwork in my house, and it was just really healing,” Isabel said.

Isabel is grateful for the Clearwater Free Clinic because she has always had positive experiences with the staff and has found a new passion for art. Your gift to the CFC helps us provide quality healthcare and positive experiences to uninsured Pinellas County residents like Isabel.
