Honoring the Legacy of John H. Meek Jr.
John H. Meek Jr. was more than a board member—he was a passionate community activist whose dedication to the Clearwater Free Clinic (CFC) left a lasting impact. For many years, John devoted his time, energy, and leadership to ensuring the Clinic's growth and sustainability, helping to expand access to essential medical and behavioral health care for those in need.
To honor his unwavering commitment, the Clearwater Free Clinic Charity Golf Tournament was officially renamed the John H. Meek Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament in May 2017. This annual event continues to serve as a vital fundraiser, with proceeds directly supporting ongoing medical and behavioral health programs for low-income, uninsured families in our community.
The Meek family's unwavering support has been instrumental in the tournament's success. They have generously contributed not only tremendous financial resources but also their time and talents. By actively participating in committee meetings, spearheading fundraising initiatives, and personally recruiting golfers, the Meek family has ensured the event's growth and continued impact. Their hands-on involvement exemplifies a deep commitment to the community and to the mission John championed.

Beyond the golf tournament, the Meek family's dedication extends to other key fundraising events, including Martinis and Matisse and the Topgolf PAR-tee. Their continued involvement helps sustain the mission John was so passionate about—providing quality health care to those who need it most.
We are incredibly grateful for the Meek family's enduring commitment and for all those who participate in these events to keep John’s legacy alive. Through this collective effort, we honor his memory by making a real difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.

Thank you to everyone who supports the Clearwater Free Clinic—your contributions ensure that John's vision of a healthier, more compassionate community lives on. We hope to see you all on May 5th, 2025 at Innisbrook.
On a personal note Mr. Meek was a close friend and I’ll always remember the Berkely Beach Bum carpool in middle school.
