Moccasin Lake Nature Preserve

Moccasin Lake is a 51-acre nature preserve with trails and boardwalks under a canopy of mature oaks and across ponds and creeks.

The winding nature trail offers animal enclosures which feature a variety of animals including  bats, birds of prey and gopher turtles. Moccasin Lake  provides several educational opportunities for visitors about native animals and plant life, making it a great place for kids to visit!

It is open Tues. - Fri. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The park is free to enter.

** Fishing and pets are not permitted in the park **

Family Health & Fitness Day Idea: Enjoy a one-mile nature trail and the bird of prey sanctuary on the premises, which includes hawks and bald eagles.

Crest Lake Park

The newly renovated Crest Lake Park offers something for the whole family. The park contains four play areas, a spray pad, an arboretum, and even a dog park for your four-legged family members. The park features a scenic half-mile walk around Crest Lake. Wider sidewalks make the park ADA accessible. 

The Doggie Days dog park offers over 3 acres of wide-open spaces for your furry family member to run free as well as doggie drinking fountains and pet paw washers. 

For the little ones, try the newly added spray pad to keep cool in the Florida heat or explore one of the four play areas located within the park. 

Crest Lake Park is open from 6 A.M. - 9 P.M. daily and is free to enter.

Sand Key Park

Sand Key Park has all the amenities for a great family outing, including a sandy beach and plenty of parking. A dog park, a play area, large bathhouses, cabanas, and seasonal lifeguards are just a few of the amenities available here. Sand Key provides free beach wheelchairs for disabled visitors, which are easier to use on the sand and float in the water.

A rare salt marsh provides the opportunity for visitors to view endangered birds nesting and feeding there. This park also serves as a base of operations for the county's artificial reef program.

Sand Key Highlights. Located just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Clearwater Beach, this lush oasis is the perfect place to unwind without leaving town. Its white-sand beach and dog-friendly park make it a great getaway. Sand Key is surrounded by two large resorts with numerous amenities located near Clearwater Pass, allowing boaters to access the Gulf of Mexico with ease. 

Sand Key is open from 7 A.M. to dusk and offers parking all day for $5.00

Family Health & Fitness Day Idea: A beach day is a perfect way to get active in the summer while staying cool. Take a swim in the gulf and then relax together on the sand.

Bayview Park

In a grove of historical oaks, Bayview Park offers a unique view of Florida. There are over a half-mile of trails, picnic tables, a beach overlook, and lots of wildlife around the park. 

The Bayview Park was created to preserve the natural landscape, including all of the native vegetation. Throughout the park, visitors can see Florida's different ecosystems and view the variety of wildlife in the state. Its diverse landscape includes wetlands and a hundred-year-old oak forest, perfect for a lover of plants and wildlife.

This is not only a great location for cyclists and hikers, but also for bird watchers, butterfly collectors, and kayakers. Bayview Park is open from sunrise to sunset and there is no fee to enter.
