Farewell Corey: On to New Horizons!

Corey’s farewell party was well attended and the speakers were heartfelt.

Tomorrow, we say a bittersweet farewell to Corey Shapiro, our Lead Nurse Practitioner at the Clearwater Free Clinic. Corey has been the heart of our medical programs, leading our team with compassion, expertise, and unwavering dedication. Her years of service have touched countless lives, from the patients she cared for to the colleagues she inspired.

Corey joined the Clearwater Free Clinic over 6 years ago, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for serving those most in need. From day one, it was clear that Corey was not only an exceptional clinician but the epitome of compassionate caregiving. She cultivated an environment of learning, collaboration, and empathy that became the guiding light of our medical programs. Whether she was mentoring new practitioners, advocating for patients, or developing new protocols to improve care, Corey approached every challenge with a deep sense of purpose and a warm, open heart.

One of Corey's greatest strengths has always been her ability to connect with people. Patients knew that when they walked through our doors, they would be treated with respect and dignity. Corey listened intently to their stories, always taking the time to understand their concerns and ensure they felt heard. Her compassion was matched only by her determination to provide the best possible care, no matter the obstacles. She went above and beyond to ensure that our patients received the treatments, support, and resources they needed, often working long hours and coordinating with other providers and community partners to make it happen.
