Nonprofit Dedicates Eye Care Room to Local Ophthalmologist
Clearwater, FL – On November 17, 2022, the Clearwater Free Clinic (CFC) dedicated its beautiful ophthalmology suite in honor of physician volunteer Dr. Louis Michaelos. Dr. Michaelos is credited for starting the Clinic’s eye program in 2002. With direction and support from Dr. Michaelos, a storage closet was equipped and transformed into the Clinic’s first dedicated eye room.

Clearwater Free Clinic Mourns the Loss of Long-Time Volunteer Cardiologist, Dr. Muni L. Narayan
The Clearwater Free Clinic mourns the loss of long-time volunteer cardiologist, Dr. Muni L. Narayan, who passed away on Tuesday at the age 83. Having grown up poor in India, Dr. Narayan understood the necessity of providing much-needed medical care for underserved communities. His family stated that while in private practice, Dr. Narayan never refused a patient for their inability to pay.
